Los Angeles Real Estate Attorneys

WCC&E has a substantial real estate practice representing a wide variety of participants in the real estate industry, both local and international. We see our clients as entrepreneurs, and look at the issues not only from the legal, but from the practical business perspective, facilitating their navigation through the negotiation and drafting of simple or complex joint venture agreements and the ensuing representation of our clients in the purchase, development, construction, financing, sale or tax-delayed exchanges of a variety of real estate projects, again ranging from the study and acquisition of raw land for development to the purchase of office buildings, shopping centers, retail properties, residential apartment complexes, hotels, resorts, golf courses, supermarkets, and multi-tenant or single-tenant industrial projects. In connection with this, we conduct complex due diligence studies on land use, title, easement or multiple underlying lease reviews.

We further represent our clients in the negotiation, drafting or review of master leases for manufacturing, industrial, retail, multiple residential, regional malls, community shopping centers, office buildings, or mixed-use projects, both in simple or in more involved lease transactions, including build-to-suit leases, ground leases, percentage leases, or major tenant leases. As an added benefit, our multicultural background allows us to identify with the particular concerns of our Pacific Rim clients, lending to the smooth progression of the transaction.

In addition to real estate transactions, we have extensive experience in real estate litigation. Our real estate attorneys have handled virtually every type of real estate dispute, from specific performance, quiet title and partition actions, to eminent domain and commercial leasing disputes. We represent owners, developers, suppliers, and general contractors in claims involving major construction defects, cost overruns and delays, and enforcement of mechanic’s liens. We also handle a wide range of contract and partnership issues, including breach of purchase agreements, dissolution of partnerships and limited liability companies, lender and financing disputes, and broker liability.
